The Marathon & District Historical Society and Museum is now open for the 2022 season. (25 Stevens Ave.) (Free admission)
Initial operating hours will be 9:00 AM to 4:00 pm. The Museum will be open for visits and tours, 5 days per week. We are also available by appointment or special occasions on Saturdays.
Come out to see our interesting historical displays and learn more about the history of Marathon & District.
- Learn about the impact of the building of the railway in the 1880's,
- Construction of the pulp mill in the mid 1940's
- Woodlands operations in the mid-1940's
- Impact of First Nation community
- Information about the local POW camps at Neys and Angler is also available
- Many Interpretative historical displays are available
Come on out to find out more about the extensive history of Marathon & District - groups are welcome
